June Thoughts
June - the phrase "Celebrating 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (1925-2025)" keeps ringing out... Perhaps, over the years, the Press has been closely associated with daily life, as familiar as food, clothing, and money to each person... Giving us the feeling of the breath of life, of society, giving us the feeling of existence... So in our hearts, even if we are not journalists, a strange emotion wells up, thinking about the Press, about our journalist friends, and about "our" Newspaper.
Press and media - A friend and teacher of BIDV
During 35 years of work, especially since 1990, I deeply feel that the media and press (print newspapers, photo newspapers, television newspapers, online newspapers...) have always been closely associated with BIDV throughout the journey of innovation, integration and development... Witnessing every success, every failure, every challenge, every contribution of BIDV to the country... How many articles, containing enthusiasm, with all my heart... are always like words of encouragement, motivation, and strictness for the community to understand BIDV better, to promote the BIDV brand more brightly and for us to understand ourselves better... To silently thank and remember a saying of Trang Tu: ""The one who praises me correctly - is my friend / The one who criticizes me correctly - is my teacher". I understand that this saying seems to be for the journalists I have known for many years.
I quietly and silently say, “Thank you and wish you always be as beautiful as the noble title of JOURNALIST” so that your pen will always speak words of integrity, full of social responsibility, full of humanity, so that Journalism will always be an essential part of life…
Thoughts about my family's newspaper
Like my contemporaries, I am a loyal reader of the Investment and Development Newsletter, from the first issue to issue 331... I am also a loyal reader of internal media publications such as History, Photo Book, Yearbook of BIDV, of branches on every anniversary, then books, memoirs, essays, documentaries, and most recently the publication History of BIDV Party Committee (1957-2025). Each publication is full of events, abundant in documents... full of love for the industry, love for the profession and full of memories... It can be said that BIDV's media publications over the past 35 years have been attached as a part of BIDV's life... To convey information, promote the brand, convey BIDV's positive energy to the community, to society, to friends at home and abroad, convey love for the profession, love for the industry and pride in the profession... to hundreds of thousands of officers and employees in the entire system...
I think there will be an opportunity to share our feelings of love and trust and to send our thanks and best wishes to BIDV's "amateur journalists" and collaborators in the entire system. You are making our newspaper more beautiful, richer, and more valuable - like true journalists.

If the April 2025 Development Investment Newsletter is "A stirring low note - Dissolving in the harmony" of the whole country in the joy of the national festival celebrating the 50th anniversary of National Reunification. Each page of the Newsletter is filled with light, flags, and the bustling sounds... of the festival, reviving both the images and daily life of 50 years ago. The articles are like lyrics from BIDV in harmony with the chorus of the Country full of joy...
…Investment and Development Newsletter No. 331 - May 2025 is just about BIDV's story about a special month with a special event - the 15th BIDV Party Congress, which was held on the birthday of beloved Uncle Ho...
The messages about the Congress, its goals, directions, ideas, images, thoughts, and emotions of tens of thousands of Party members toward the Congress... seem to overflow onto every page of the Newsletter and permeate every word...
Do you feel excited when reading the article of Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors Phan Duc Tu about BIDV's goals in the next 5 years... Determining BIDV's Aspiration and Mission:
“ Building BIDV to become a BIG - STRONG - GREEN Bank in the Top 100 Asian Banks... pioneering in implementing social responsibility, serving the community, actively contributing with the whole country to enter the New Era - the Era of strong, prosperous, civilized and prosperous development of the country ”. That goal is specified by 6 key tasks and 3 breakthroughs... Each message seems to have a direct impact on the heart of each BIDV officer and places heavy responsibility and pressure on the shoulders of nearly 30 thousand BIDV Party members. The greater the aspiration and mission, the greater the honor and the heavier the responsibility. Do you feel as excited as you were at the Party Congress 25 years ago, when entering the new millennium and entering the period of banking restructuring? Or do you feel surprised and amazed?
Is it a coincidence that all the articles in this Bulletin 331 seem to be in harmony with and vividly illustrate the message of the 15th Party Congress?
How do you feel when reading the reflections on the two words "Responsibility" of General Director Le Ngoc Lam? Perhaps, we feel more deeply the connotation of these two words. Realizing the goals of the Party Committee - also realizing the aspirations and mission of BIDV, is the responsibility of every BIDV Party member. Suddenly you feel that the two words Responsibility are not dry and abstract but extremely vivid, clearly visible, sparkling and sacred.
Each person carries within himself the responsibility of a citizen, of a Party member, and of the position he is in charge of. Each person bears responsibility for himself, for his family, for the organization he lives in, BIDV, and for society, for the country…
Responsibility to oneself is to strive to become the best version of oneself. Responsibility to BIDV is to exceed expectations of assigned tasks, responsibility for the survival and development of BIDV. Fulfill commitments to customers, partners, investors, and employees. Responsibility to society is to serve the community, serve the interests of the country.
Only by fulfilling one's own responsibilities can one fulfill one's responsibilities to BIDV and to society. We suddenly feel that responsibility is not a constraint, not a pressure, but a source of pride - Because responsibility is the positioning of one's own value in the journey of realizing one's aspirations and missions. Every irresponsible word and action of anyone is self-negation. And we understand more, perhaps - the phrase Responsibility is the key word of every success of every organization - of BIDV.
Suddenly I thought that at the age of U80, I no longer have any responsibility to society. Is that the relief or sadness of old age or jealousy of youth?
Continue reading the articles in the newsletter, you will feel more clearly about the two words Responsibility. Very profound and specific. That is the article of the Wholesale Product Policy Department talking about the responsibility of commercial banks for the country's green economic development through the bank's green credit programs for clean energy, clean industry, clean transportation and clean agriculture. That is the article of the Corporate Customer Department talking about the responsibility of banks through credit programs serving economic restructuring and infrastructure development. That is the article of the Retail Product Department proposing solutions demonstrating the responsibility of banks to serve private economic development in the spirit of Resolution 68/NQ of the Party. That is the article of the Technology Block on proactive digital transformation and application of technology in banking activities or the article of the Human Resources Department on building a team of BIDV staff proficient in technology, contributing to the implementation of Resolution 57/NQ.
Each article seems to demonstrate BIDV's sense of responsibility towards the country. You will realize that what is special about BIDV is that BIDV's implementation of social responsibility is placed in a large, exciting mass emulation movement... There, each collective, each individual is a vivid example to inspire and spread the spirit of responsibility. There, "Emulation is not a slogan but a commitment to action", taking drastic action for the common goal. There "Emulation is the driving force to motivate each collective, each individual, to proactively promote the spirit of responsibility to contribute to the development of BIDV". "It is not a race to find the best person, but a healthy action, turning every challenge into an opportunity to shine". It is "a source of positive energy that motivates everyone to realize their aspirations". Do you find it wonderful to read the sharing of “Three readiness” in this era: readiness for digital transformation - readiness to master technology - and readiness to serve society?” From there, responsibility is transformed from emotion into decisive action, into collective strength, into a flow connecting the source in each BIDV Party member and cadre”…
A normal Investment and Development Newsletter of BIDV gives us so many emotions, so many thoughts, so much trust, gives us so much positive energy to understand more, love more the BIDV children who are wholeheartedly carrying out the good goals for a BIDV with sustainable development, with a noble spirit of RESPONSIBILITY, with a deep love of a Party member before the Party Congress... Perhaps that is the value of Revolutionary Journalism. Once again, thank you to our Newspaper, and the journalists of BIDV.
