Contribute to spreading culture and keeping the passion alive at BIDV Phu My

In order to contribute to building an increasingly clean and strong Party organization, cadres and Party members in the BIDV system have been making efforts every day to contribute to lighting up the Party's values in practice. The Editorial Board would like to share the story of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang Nga - Party Member, Deputy Director of BIDV Phu My - a typical example of the balanced combination between the professional leadership role and political responsibility of a Party member. Not only making a mark in business activities, she also left a deep impression with her persistent contributions to Party work, spreading knowledge and humanity from the smallest things.

Spreading culture in Party work

For many people, banks are a place of merely numbers and growth pressure. But for Ms. Hang Nga, banks can also be the starting point of inspirational journeys - where reading culture is nurtured from small bookshelves, from pages imbued with humanity.

From the very first days BIDV launched the “BIDV Bookstore” initiative, Ms. Hang Nga was among the first responders. As a true book lover, she not only participated in reading but also contributed to organizing exchange activities, sharing feelings, writing articles, donating books, borrowing books within the branch and then spreading to many branches.

With the motto "knowledge needs to be shared to keep alive", she and her colleagues in BIDV Phu My Party Committee proposed and advocated the establishment of a separate reading space for the Party Cell at the branch, which is the Party Cell Bookcase. Although the branch space is limited and prioritized for business activities, with perseverance and creativity, she has contributed to creating a small, beautiful and delicate bookcase, a place to spread the spirit of learning, innovative thinking, and especially the beauty of Party culture in the enterprise.

Those efforts have been duly recognized: in 2021, on the occasion of BIDV's founding anniversary, Ms. Hang Nga was recognized throughout the system with the title "A role model of spreading reading culture". This is a recognition not only for her but also for the values that she has contributed to instilling. In 2024, she continued to receive this title once again and BIDV Phu My collective was also one of 06 collectives honored as "Branch with achievements in the movement to spread Reading Culture at BIDV".

In her role as a Party Committee member for many years, Ms. Hang Nga and the Party Committee have constantly innovated methods of organizing Party activities, helping BIDV Phu My Party cell maintain the title of a clean and strong Party cell for many years. The highlight of her Party activities is the connection between theory and practical action. During the period of 2023 - 2024, she not only participated but also encouraged, supported, commented and accompanied other comrades in writing articles about the Party, creating a widespread atmosphere - where every Party member feels responsible for sharing and protecting the core values of the Party in every word. Thanks to that, the branch has recorded 17 political articles defending the Party's ideological foundation, 11 entries for the "Golden Hammer and Sickle" contest, many of which won individual prizes. BIDV Phu My Party Cell is one of the units with the largest number of entries in the entire BIDV system in 2023, and also won the Outstanding Collective award.

Keep the passion alive in professional work

As the branch leader, in recent years, Ms. Hang Nga and her colleagues in the board of directors and staff have brought the branch to many positive results in business activities: Total assets increased by an average of more than 13%/year, achieving the target of the Party Congress resolution for the 2020-2025 term; credit balance grew by an average of more than 12%/year, focusing on the retail segment with more than 80% of total outstanding loans; capital mobilization increased by more than 14%/year, the proportion of non-term capital reached 23.3%; profit grew by 10.5%/year; average income of staff increased by 10.4%/year; active customer rate reached 61%, ranked in the Top 3/15 branches outside Ho Chi Minh City.

BIDV Phu My has many initiatives that have been effectively applied in practice, contributing to improving operational processes, saving time and operating costs. In the period 2020 - 2025, the branch has 61 topics/initiatives recognized and effectively applied, including 01 topic, 10 system-level initiatives (Ms. Hang Nga directly participated in 02 initiatives) and 50 grassroots-level initiatives.

Looking forward to the new journey, Ms. Hang Nga and the Party Committee continue to propose solutions to innovate Party work such as linking Party cell activities with business practices in risk management, customer care, digital transformation, implementing the "Four Good" program in the Party Cell, launching the internal contest "Learning from Uncle Ho every day"...

Although not ostentatious or loud, Nguyen Thi Hang Nga's journey is a powerful inspirational story about a modern woman who loves her job, loves people, loves the Party and always contributes with all her sincerity, responsibility and belief.
