BIDV Phu My: 19 years of creating value, accelerating innovation, conquering the future
From humble beginnings, BIDV Phu My has grown steadily, affirming the mettle of a dynamic, effective and creative collective of the Southern dynamic region.
Turning 19 years old (November 1, 2006 - November 1, 2025), Phu My Branch was honored as "BIDV Advanced Model for the period 2020-2025", increasingly affirming the position and resilience of a united, innovative, persistent and ambitious collective.
On the occasion of the 19th anniversary of its establishment, the journey of value creation and future aspirations of BIDV Phu My are vividly recreated through the stories and experiences of generations of leaders and staff - those who have contributed to creating the identity of the branch today.
From a solid foundation to Phu My identity
BIDV Phu My was established on November 1, 2006, when Phu My began to form industrial parks and seaports. From 25 initial staff, the branch has now developed into a group of more than 110 people and an operating network including the head office and 5 transaction offices. By the end of the first 9 months of 2025, BIDV Phu My's total operating scale reached more than VND 18,000 billion. Foreign exchange trading profits, net income from digital banking and the number of new customers registering for e-banking have all increased sharply, reflecting the branch's focus on "accelerating innovation", especially on digital banking channels.
Reflecting on the branch’s journey over the past two decades, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thuy - Director of BIDV Phu My - shared: “For me, the most meaningful thing is to inherit a collective with a solid foundation and its own identity. Over the past 20 years, BIDV Phu My has gone through many stages of development, but the common point has never changed - that is the spirit of solidarity and the desire to contribute. We are continuing that journey with the spirit of innovation, responsibility and dedication, to bring BIDV Phu My firmly into the new era.”
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long - Deputy Director of BIDV Phu My, who has been with the branch since its inception - recalls: “I still remember the first time when the branch was first established, the facilities were still lacking, the business processes still had to be handled manually, and there was a lot of pressure on human resources and the market. But it was in that difficult time that we formed the Phu My spirit - dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility. That was a solid foundation for the collective to promote internal strength, ready to enter the stage of accelerating innovation and strong transformation like today.”
Accelerating innovation
In recent years, BIDV Phu My has recorded many outstanding results, creating momentum for the branch to be honored as "Typical Advanced in the period 2020-2025". Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thuy shared about the driving force of that transformation: "I think it is the resonance between tradition and innovation. We identify "accelerating innovation" as not only a slogan but also a specific action in each field: management and administration, customer development, digital transformation and corporate culture. In addition, the determination of the Board of Directors, the efforts of each staff member and the solidarity of the whole team are the decisive factors that help Phu My achieve today's achievements."
During the period 2023-2025, the branch recorded remarkable growth results: capital mobilization at the end of the period increased by 21.4% and outstanding credit at the end of the period increased by 13.9%. The branch has completed its tasks well and excellently for many consecutive years. In 2023, it was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, and in 2024, it achieved the title of Excellent Labor Collective, received a Certificate of Merit from the General Director of BIDV and an Emulation Flag from the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for "Unit with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement".
In particular, in 2024, the branch was honored to receive the Emulation Flag from the State Bank, in 2025 it was honored as "BIDV Advanced Model for the period 2020-2025" and the unit "Has had outstanding achievements in 20 years of operation - Actively and effectively contributed to the cause of building and developing the BIDV system". These titles have demonstrated the solidity in expertise, the spirit of competition and the courage of the BIDV Phu My collective.
Along with business results, the branch actively responded to system movements such as the comprehensive retail transformation program (RBT), innovation competitions (One million initiatives, Hack the idea), BIDV Run for a green life, Warm Tet for the poor, along with internal sports and cultural activities and local social security...
In 2024, BIDV Phu My's grassroots Party Cell, grassroots Trade Union and grassroots Youth Union all ranked excellent in their tasks, demonstrating the synchronization between the Party's leadership and the branch's business efficiency and mass movement.
In that innovative picture, many staff have boldly innovated and made efforts to break through. Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Tri - Deputy Director of Phu Ha Transaction Office - is one of the typical individuals honored as a Typical Advanced Model for the period 2020-2025 of BIDV. She shared: “I always feel encouraged to innovate at Phu My. The Board of Directors always creates conditions for each staff member to proactively research, test and apply innovations. That spirit helps me boldly propose creative solutions and initiatives in my work, contributing to the overall efficiency of the branch.”
Conquer the future
After 19 years, BIDV Phu My is entering a new phase of development with many expectations. The branch captain shares his future orientation: “I always believe that BIDV Phu My’s strength lies in its people. Each staff member is contributing to creating new values. Over the past 19 years, we have built the foundation; in the next 19 years, we will build our vision, stature and influence.”
In the period 2025-2030, BIDV Phu My determines to focus on promoting comprehensive digitalization and developing green banking. The branch aims to become a leading financial partner in the dynamic seaport - industrial area of Phu My, the gateway connecting the key economic region of the South.
That spirit of innovation and aspiration is being passed on to generations of young staff, who bring new energy to Phu My. Le Anh Tho - Customer Management Specialist, Personal Customer Department, a new staff recruited in 2024 - feels: "I am really impressed with the working environment at BIDV Phu My - where everyone is listened to, learned and trusted. As a new staff, we are inspired by the culture of BIDV as well as the branch. 19 years is not a long journey in BIDV's history, but it is a long enough journey for BIDV Phu My to affirm its mettle, position and pride. Promoting that spirit, the branch is determined to walk firmly on the path of integration and innovation.
