The Politburo issues a new resolution on developing Vietnamese culture
On January 7, on behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary To Lam signed and issued Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of Vietnamese culture.

The resolution was issued as the country enters a new stage of development with increasingly high demands for rapid, sustainable development, closely linking the economy, politics, society, culture, and people.
The content of the Resolution affirms the consistent view that cultural and human development is the foundation, driving force, pillar, and regulatory system for the country's sustainable development. Culture must lead the way, permeating all areas of social life, from policy formulation to implementation, from real life to digital space.
The Resolution sets the goal of building an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity by 2030; vigorously developing cultural industries; narrowing the gap in cultural enjoyment between regions; and gradually forming cultural, artistic, and creative brands with regional and international stature. The vision for 2045 is to build a socialist Vietnamese culture, in which people are the center, subject, and goal of development; culture becomes a prominent soft power, contributing to affirming Vietnam's position as a developed country with high income.
Notably, the Politburo unanimously selected November 24 of each year as "Vietnam Culture Day," with the policy that it is a day off, workers receive full pay, so that the people can enhance their ability to enjoy culture, artists and writers are encouraged to be creative, and the whole society promotes and practices a cultural and civilized lifestyle.
To realize these objectives, the Resolution identifies a comprehensive and synchronized system of tasks and solutions, focusing on innovating cultural development thinking; perfecting breakthrough institutions and policies; building a comprehensively developed Vietnamese people; strongly developing the cultural industry in conjunction with science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; and proactively and actively integrating into the international community in terms of culture.
The issuance of Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW demonstrates the Party's strong political determination to make culture a solid foundation, an endogenous resource, and a great spiritual force, contributing to building a prosperous, happy, and sustainably developed country in the new era.
