In a rapidly developing digital economy, the banking market in Vietnam has made remarkable progress in digital transformation. According to a report by the State Bank of Vietnam, over 87% of Vietnamese adults have a bank account. Notably, in the first 8 months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, cashless payment transactions increased by 43.53% in volume and 24.24% in value; transactions via QR Code increased by 63.65% in volume and 152.97% in value. With the goal of becoming the "Digital Bank of the Future," SmartBanking version X converges three strategic pillars: Comprehensive innovation in user experience; Applying artificial intelligence (AI/ML) to deeply personalize based on customer behavior; and Establishing a platform to expand the banking-finance-consumption-investment-life convenience ecosystem, aiming to fully meet all customer needs in a single application.

BIDV SmartBanking version X is the first and only digital bank in Vietnam to offer a synchronized, seamless experience across six types of devices: smartphones, desktops, laptops, tablets, smart watches, and smart keyboards on chat applications such as Zalo, Messenger, iMessage, and Viber. AI plays a central role in automatically categorizing transactions, supporting financial planning, setting spending and savings goals, and allowing users to create separate "financial wallets" for each goal and share them with groups or loved ones for joint management. When spending exceeds the budget, the app alerts users and suggests optimal solutions, helping customers maintain financial discipline and achieve their goals in a smart and sustainable way.

Automatic Investment: Customers only need to register once, and the system will automatically save the balance exceeding the set threshold (from VND 10 million) and generate profits right in the account. Notably, since the launch of BIDV SmartBanking X (July 21, 2025 – September 30, 2025), the total average daily transaction volume has skyrocketed, equivalent to a growth rate of nearly 43% compared to before its implementation.
