Stock Market on February 6: Selling Pressure Increases Ahead of Holiday Break
Closing the trading session, the VN-Index sank into the red as selling pressure intensified across the board, with cautious sentiment prevailing and the banking and real estate sectors facing significant pressure.
BASIC MARKET
The VN-Index fell immediately after opening and spent the whole day fluctuating between 1,755 and 1,785 before closing at 1,755.49 points, down more than 27 points from yesterday.
The market breadth leaned toward the negative side with 16 out of 18 sectors declining, among which the Personal & Household Goods sector fell sharply by nearly 5%, followed by Financial Services, Basic Resources, etc.
Regarding foreign investors' transactions, today they net sold on the HSX and UPCOM exchanges and net bought on the HNX exchange. The selling momentum is increasing ahead of the Tet holiday, so investors should trade cautiously.
