Today's Stock Market 2/23: VN-Index rises over 36 points in the first trading session of the new year
Widespread capital inflows helped the stock market have a strong start to the year with many groups of stocks rising sharply.
BASIC MARKET
The VN-Index rose more than 36 points in the first trading session of the Year of the Horse. At the close of the session, the index closed at 1,860.14 points.
The market breadth leaned positively with 16 out of 18 sectors gaining points, led by the Oil and Gas sector, followed by Insurance, Chemicals, etc. On the other hand, the Information Technology and Retail sectors recorded declines.
Regarding foreign trading, today this group sold net on all three exchanges: HSX, HNX, and UPCOM. The market's rise to its previous peak of 1,902.93 is quite steep and lacks consensus in the overall market. Investors should trade cautiously.

CONTRACTS All futures contracts rose in line with the movement of the VN30.

During the trading session on February 23, 2026, warrants fluctuated in line with the market's tug-of-war trend.

• The VN-Index's trading value reached VND 22,739 billion, up 19.21% from the previous session. The total trading value reached VND 23,589 billion.
• Fluctuation range: 29.23 points. The market had 280 gainers, 38 unchanged stocks, and 73 losers.
• Net selling value of foreign investors: -1,116.69 billion VND on the HOSE, including FPT (-1,140.18 billion), VCB (-265.40 billion), VPB (-163.49 billion), MWG (-116.76 billion), DGW (-80.86 billion). Foreign investors net sold on the HNX with a value of -67.22 billion VND.
