Macroeconomic News

  • China: China's two annual meetings in 2026 take place in a particularly important context, as they not only set economic targets for the coming year but also serve as a stepping stone for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030). The market's focus will be on the government work report presented by Premier Li Qiang, which is expected to announce GDP growth targets and macroeconomic policy directions. Analysts are debating whether Beijing will lower its growth target from "around 5%" to the 4.5%-5% range, thereby formalizing the shift to a "high-quality growth" model and reducing pressure to roll out a large-scale stimulus package.
  • Eurozone: Official data just released shows that economic confidence declined slightly in February, remaining below the long-term average (100 points). Hopes for a rapid recovery have been dashed as employment expectations have fallen, along with simultaneous declines in both the industrial and service sectors.
  • Vietnam: From March 1, several new laws came into effect, focusing on business recovery, improving the investment environment, etc.
  • Vietnam: The Ministry of Finance has updated three inflation scenarios for 2026. Specifically: Scenario 1 forecasts that the average CPI in 2026 will increase by about 3.6% compared to 2025. Scenario 2: The average CPI in 2026 is forecast to increase by about 4.10% compared to 2025. Scenario 3: The average CPI in 2026 is forecast to increase by about 4.6% compared to 2025.
  • Vietnam: The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has just issued Circular 11/2026/TT-BNNMT regulating the management and operation of the National Registry System for Greenhouse Gas Emission Quotas and Carbon Credits.
