Today's Stock Market, March 18: VN-Index Still Searching for Equilibrium

BIDV Securities (BSC) {Publication Date}

Although it failed to maintain its strong upward momentum due to some blue-chip stocks pulling back in the afternoon, the VN-Index still managed to sustain its upward trend.

BASIC MARKET
The VN-Index fluctuated within the 1,700–1,745 range throughout the day and closed at 1,713.83 points, up nearly 4 points from yesterday. 9 out of 18 sectors gained ground, while the number of declining stocks outnumbered the rising ones, indicating that capital flows tended to concentrate on specific stocks within each sector. The Utilities sector led the gains, followed by the Industrial Goods & Services sector, etc. On the flip side, the Financial Services sector saw the sharpest decline. Regarding foreign investors’ trading activity, today they sold a net of over 2 trillion VND on the HSX and bought a net on the other two exchanges. Two consecutive candlesticks with long upper shadows indicate that market sentiment remains cautious. Investors should trade with caution.

FUTURES CONTRACTS All
futures contracts moved in the opposite direction of the VN30.
