On April 1, 2026, in Can Tho City, BIDV and the Community Disaster Prevention Fund (QPT) signed a cooperation agreement to implement a program to plant 240,000 trees in the Mekong Delta

The program was attended by Mr. Cao Duc Phat—former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Chairman of the Community Fund for Disaster Prevention and Mitigation; Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep—Vice Chairwoman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee; and Mr. Phan Duc Tu—Chairman of the BIDV Board of Directors.

Under the agreement, BIDV will collaborate with QPT to implement the planting of 240,000 trees in mangrove forests within the Can Tho area. The program will be implemented in areas affected by natural disasters, drought, and saltwater intrusion, contributing to improving the ecological environment and enhancing the resilience of coastal ecosystems. This initiative is part of BIDV’s “1 Million Trees” planting campaign, launched in response to the Prime Minister’s “1 Billion Trees” initiative.

Planting 240,000 trees helps BIDV achieve its "Plant 1 Million Trees" goal

In response to the Prime Minister’s Directive on planting and caring for 1 billion trees, BIDV has launched the “Plant 1 Million Trees” program for the 2022–2026 period.

To date, BIDV’s “Plant 1 Million Trees” program has achieved positive results, with over 760,000 trees planted across many provinces and cities nationwide, spanning from the northern mountains and Central Vietnam to the Mekong Delta—regions heavily impacted by natural disasters and climate change. The implementation of the program to plant 240,000 trees in Can Tho City will help BIDV fulfill its commitment and complete the "Plant 1 Million Trees" program.
