The working session took place with the participation of senior leaders from both sides. As part of the working program, the Vietnam Peace Committee announced and presented the Decision to award a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations to Comrade Tran Xuan Hoang. As a member of the Presidium of the Vietnam Peace Committee, Comrade Tran Xuan Hoang has made positive and effective contributions to connecting corporate resources with people-to-people diplomacy, helping to promote the image of a peace-loving nation to international friends.

Speaking at the ceremony, a representative of the Vietnam Peace Committee emphasized that this award is a well-deserved recognition of Comrade Tran Xuan Hoang’s personal efforts as well as the steadfast support of the BIDV team for the Committee’s activities over the past many years. This serves as evidence of the convergence between modern economic management thinking and the political sense of responsibility of leaders in the context of deepening international integration.

Discussion: When Peace is the Foundation of Development

Immediately following the award ceremony, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions regarding future cooperation plans. The discussions focused on concretizing joint action programs to leverage each party’s strengths in carrying out political and community tasks.

Accordingly, BIDV and the Vietnam Peace Committee agreed to focus on key areas including: communication on peace and integration; traditional education for the younger generation; and the implementation of sustainable social welfare programs.

In a world marked by significant upheaval, the promotion and education regarding the value of peace have become more urgent than ever. BIDV, with its extensive network and large, young workforce, is expected to serve as an effective channel for conveying the Vietnam Peace Committee’s messages to the community. In return, the Committee will support BIDV in positioning its brand in alignment with sustainable development values (ESG) and expanding its influence in public diplomacy forums.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Tran Xuan Hoang affirmed: “For BIDV, fulfilling social responsibility is not merely a political duty but has become an integral part of our corporate culture and a way of life rooted in compassion. We recognize that a bank can only achieve sustainable development in a peaceful and stable world. Therefore, collaborating with the Vietnam Peace Committee is a strategic step for BIDV to contribute more to the cause of people-to-people diplomacy and build the image of a responsible and humanitarian Vietnamese enterprise.”

Synergistic Strength for Greater Goals

To effectively implement the agreed-upon initiatives, BIDV leadership has assigned specific tasks to internal units. The Party Committee’s Propaganda Department will serve as the coordinating body, working closely with the Vietnam Peace Committee to develop a detailed action plan. The Trade Union and the Youth League of BIDV have been tasked with researching and integrating content on peace and friendship into their movement activities, aiming to educate staff and youth members on a sense of responsibility.

The strengthened cooperation between a major financial institution and a people-to-people foreign affairs organization like the Vietnam Peace Committee reflects an inevitable trend in the new era: businesses cannot be separated from the issues of the times. Against the backdrop of Vietnam’s efforts to contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and assert its position on the international stage, partnerships between “the economy” and “people’s diplomacy”—such as that between BIDV and the Vietnam Peace Committee—are a vital source of internal strength.

The aspiration for peace and the belief in development

The working session concluded in an atmosphere of trust and strong determination from the leadership of both sides. The success of the meeting did not stop at written commitments; more importantly, it sparked an awareness of the role of every individual and every organization in preserving and building peace.

For BIDV, this event further solidifies its position as a bank “For the Community,” always leading the way in social welfare and external relations activities. For the Vietnam Peace Committee, having a strong strategic partner like BIDV will help spread messages of peace more widely, creating tangible and positive impacts on society.
