From energy price shocks to disruptions in strategic transport routes like the Strait of Hormuz, driving up logistics costs and inflation globally. The global trade order is undergoing a major shift, presenting businesses with critical challenges regarding operational costs, cash flow management, and supply chain security. The issue for 2026 is no longer waiting for stability to return, but rather businesses must proactively build their own adaptive capabilities in the face of uncertainty

The discussion session became the highlight of the program, featuring diverse perspectives, practical experiences, and useful solutions drawn from real-world applications. According to the speakers, the inevitable shift from traditional supply chains to digital supply chains is considered the key for businesses to control the flow of goods and cash in real time. At the same time, the application of data and digitalization is not merely a supportive tool but a new management mindset that enables businesses to adapt flexibly. In this context, a digital financial infrastructure—with the banking system at its core, connecting all nodes in the economy—creates a closed-loop digital ecosystem, serving as a financial foundation that helps businesses access global markets at the most optimal cost.

The global landscape is undergoing unpredictable and significant shifts. The trade order is undergoing a major transformation, presenting businesses with critical challenges regarding operational costs, cash flow management, and supply chain security. For Vietnam, an economy with a high degree of openness, these shifts are directly impacting the economy as a whole and its individual components—the businesses. However, it is precisely in this context of trade volatility that “digital transformation” is not merely a supportive tool but the key to helping businesses restructure traditional supply chains into digital supply chains, turning data into a strategic asset to optimize performance and enhance national competitiveness. Accordingly, the seminar organized by BIDV serves as a dynamic forum featuring multifaceted perspectives and numerous suggestions and recommendations on digital transformation strategies for businesses.

BIDV leads the way in developing a digital ecosystem for customers

Speaking at the seminar, BIDV CEO Le Ngoc Lam emphasized that the content shared by the speakers conveyed a powerful message: in today’s constantly changing world, where businesses must constantly face and adapt to new challenges, “Digital transformation is no longer an option; it is a requirement and a prerequisite for businesses to survive and achieve sustainable development.”

Mr. Lam also reaffirmed BIDV’s strategy and determination to apply technology and innovate platforms to enhance customer service quality, implement the government’s and banking sector’s policies on digital transformation, thereby contributing to the goal of double-digit economic growth.

As Vietnam’s oldest bank with a 69-year history of construction and development, BIDV is currently the largest bank in the market with total assets exceeding VND 3.3 trillion; outstanding loans exceeding VND 2.3 trillion; and capital mobilization exceeding VND 2.4 trillion; currently serving over 26 million individual customers and nearly 500,000 corporate customers. As Vietnam’s leading financial institution, playing a vital role in the nation’s economy, BIDV is committed not only to being a financial services provider but also to playing a key role in building digital financial infrastructure—delivering future financial models as the operational foundation for sustainable business growth.

Businesses need speed, data, and the ability to control cash flow in real time, and BIDV’s digital ecosystem is designed to address precisely these three challenges.

Mr. Lam further emphasized: “The digital ecosystem is BIDV’s passion, designed to accompany businesses through every stage of development, enhance customer experiences, and optimize benefits for clients. The digital ecosystem represents the vision of “financial pillars” that are convenient, easy to use, and seamlessly integrated into businesses’ daily operations, enabling them to easily access and effectively utilize these resources—and thereby navigate and succeed during times of volatility.

BIDV is committed to continuing to invest more in core technology, staying ahead of global financial trends, pioneering the development of innovative new digital solutions, expanding the fintech and bigtech ecosystems, and working with businesses to build a sustainable future and drive the development of Vietnam’s digital economy.”

BIDV believes that businesses are the driving force of economic growth in the nation’s new era, and BIDV’s digital financial ecosystem serves as the foundation to support and help strengthen that driving force.

In his keynote address at the seminar, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Pham Tien Dung acknowledged and highly praised the significance and value of the “BIDV Leadership Summit 2026” and the role of BIDV’s digital ecosystem for the business community.

The Deputy Governor viewed these as important insights for regulatory agencies to formulate regulations and policies, and particularly commended BIDV for implementing the Government’s directives. BIDV is continuing to advance the story of AI adoption in a smarter and more seamless manner, where the integration of AI, artificial intelligence, and big data forms a smart ecosystem.

Deputy Governor Pham Anh Dung also urged BIDV to focus on five key tasks, emphasizing the implementation of the digital transformation strategy—particularly Government Resolution 57 and the banking sector’s guidelines—with a customer-centric approach to deliver the best possible experience; and to continue adopting new technologies, especially AI and big data. Banks, including BIDV, need to apply AI effectively, paying particular attention to the risk aspects of AI. BIDV will continue to build a seamless smart ecosystem and make management decisions based on data.

The Deputy Governor also noted that BIDV will be the first bank to establish a connection with a South Korean bank, enabling South Korean customers visiting Vietnam to make payments via the South Korean bank’s platform, demonstrating the bank’s capabilities and leadership in digital transformation. Additionally, the Deputy Governor urged BIDV to “pay special attention to security, safety, and privacy, and to strictly comply with cybersecurity laws, personal data protection regulations, and the legal rights and interests of users.” At the same time, the Deputy Governor noted, “I believe that with a highly capable staff, investment in digital development strategies, and customer support, BIDV will continue to achieve success in its digital transformation journey.”

BIDV’s Digital Ecosystem: From Service Provider to Digital Financial Infrastructure

At the event, BIDV launched a comprehensive digital ecosystem for businesses based on three strategic pillars: Platformization, Open Ecosystem, and Data Personalization. Through this, BIDV aims to address the three biggest challenges facing businesses today: Speed, Data, and Real-Time Cash Flow Control.

BIDV’s digital ecosystem includes groundbreaking platforms: BIDV eKYC – The gateway to the business’s digital space; BIDV Direct – The business’s financial operations center, where all financial activities are conducted in the digital space; BIDV SCF – A platform connecting businesses, suppliers, and distributors to optimize cash flow efficiency within the supply chain; BIDV TradeFlat – A digital platform for international trade, connecting banks, customs, logistics, and insurance to provide comprehensive services throughout a business’s import-export journey; and BIDV Open API – An Embedded Finance System, integrating the bank into the business’s financial management system.

Mr. Le Ngoc Lam, CEO of BIDV, affirmed: “BIDV’s goal is not merely to be a good digital bank, but to become the best digital financial platform to enhance the global competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses. If businesses are the ‘engines of growth,’ then BIDV’s digital ecosystem is the operating system of that engine.” BIDV is committed to continuing to invest heavily in core technology and expanding its Fintech and Bigtech ecosystems to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with businesses in building a sustainable future in the digital era.

BIDV’s technological achievements clearly demonstrate its strategy of placing “the customer at the center” of all operations and using technology as the driving force for breakthroughs, delivering tangible benefits to the economy and contributing to the implementation of the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam’s policies on digital economic development.
