Widespread profit-taking pressure emerged after the VN-Index hit a record high, particularly among blue-chip stocks, causing the market to drop nearly 4 points.

BASIC
MARKET After a day of consolidation within the 1,908–1,931 range, the VN-Index closed at 1,921.60 points, down slightly by nearly 4 points from yesterday. Market breadth leaned toward the negative side, with 13 out of 18 sectors declining, led by the Retail sector, followed by the Personal & Household Goods sector… On the other hand, the Oil & Gas, Utilities, and Chemicals sectors had a positive trading session. Regarding foreign investors’ trading activity, they were net sellers on the HSX and UPCOM exchanges while net buyers on the HNX. Low liquidity indicates the market still lacks the momentum to decisively break above the previous high.
