BIDV Maintains Its Position as Vietnam’s Best Custodian Bank
Recently, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) was awarded the “Best Custodian Bank in Vietnam” title by The Asian Banker (TAB). This marks the sixth consecutive year that BIDV has been honored in this award category.

The year 2026 marks the increasingly prominent presence of many Vietnamese banks in The Asian Banker’s award categories, reflecting the positive development of the domestic custodian banking and supervision services sector. Against this backdrop, BIDV reaffirmed its leading position by outperforming many major financial institutions in the market to retain the top spot in the “Best Custodian Bank in Vietnam” category. To date, BIDV remains the only Vietnamese bank to have received The Asian Banker’s highest national-level award for a custodian bank.
BIDV’s competitive advantage is built on a foundation of a sustainable customer base, stable operational capabilities, and a leading market position in custodial and supervisory services in Vietnam. By the end of 2025, BIDV is providing services to 38 fund management companies and 76 investment funds across all types, with total custodied assets exceeding VND 868 trillion (approximately USD 32 billion), a 31.5% increase compared to the previous year.
Not only leading in scale, BIDV has also established its reputation through its ability to meet stringent standards regarding technology, risk management, and transparency set by domestic and international financial institutions. At the same time, its modern technological infrastructure and team of highly qualified experts continue to enable BIDV to effectively meet the requirements of financial institutions and foreign investors, affirming its position as the leading custodian bank in the market.
Alongside its steady growth, BIDV continues to affirm its pioneering role as a domestic custodian bank that never ceases to innovate after more than 25 years of accompanying the Vietnamese securities market. As one of the financial institutions proactively researching, improving products and services, and applying technology to align with international standards, starting in March 2026, BIDV pioneered the implementation of an electronic business communication system with securities companies through the switching system of the Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC). This initiative contributes to the automation of post-trade processes, enhances accuracy, and shortens the processing time for custody and supervision operations in the market.
Being honored by The Asian Banker for six consecutive years not only affirms BIDV’s leading position in the custody and supervision sector but also reflects the increasingly professional, standardized, and internationally aligned development of custody banking services in Vietnam.
