  • United States: There have been various reports regarding whether the United States and Iran are currently engaged in negotiations. Now, Secretary of State Rubio has confirmed that negotiations are ongoing. Another notable statement from him is that "there is a prospect that Iran has agreed to negotiate aspects of its nuclear program that they previously refused to address in discussions."
  • China: The PBOC is expected to set the USD/CNY reference rate at 6.7673, according to Reuters estimates. This is one of the most closely watched signals in the Asian foreign exchange market, reflecting Beijing’s policy priorities regarding the yuan.
  • Japan: The services PMI weakened in May, with business costs reaching a 43-month high.
  • Japan: Approved a supplementary budget of 3.1 trillion yen (equivalent to $19 billion), fully funded by deficit bonds, to support households and businesses amid inflationary pressures from the Middle East conflict and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
