BIDV Dong Nai and Viet Nhat Fertilizer Company Sign a Partnership Agreement to Finance the Distribution Chain

On July 3, at the BIDV Dong Nai headquarters, BIDV Dong Nai Branch and Vietnam-Japan Fertilizer Company held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement to implement a financing program for the distributor network.

The program is expected to help the company’s distributor network gain easier access to capital, enhance business capabilities, and promote sustainable development.

Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan, Director of BIDV Dong Nai Branch; Mr. Jiro Nishiyama, General Director of Vietnam-Japan Fertilizer Company; along with senior representatives from various departments and centers at BIDV Headquarters, BIDV Dong Nai Branch, and Vietnam-Japan Fertilizer Company. The event marked a new milestone in the cooperative relationship between the bank and the long-standing FDI enterprise operating in Dong Nai.

BIDV always stands alongside the business community

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan, Director of BIDV’s Dong Nai Branch, noted that over the course of 69 years of construction and development, BIDV has become one of Vietnam’s leading commercial banks with a long history and large scale. By the end of 2025, BIDV’s consolidated total assets are projected to exceed 3.32 million billion VND, equivalent to approximately 127 billion USD. With a strong financial foundation, an extensive operational network, and a comprehensive ecosystem of products and services, BIDV has consistently supported the business community in expanding their production and operations.

BIDV partners with Japanese companies across various sectors

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan, BIDV has always identified the FDI business sector—including Japanese enterprises—as a strategic customer group. In recent years, BIDV has strengthened its capacity to serve Japanese clients through the Japan Desk at its headquarters, a dedicated team of staff, and cooperative relationships with many Japanese partner banks. Currently, BIDV is partnering with many Japanese companies in the manufacturing, supporting industries, retail, logistics, industrial real estate, agriculture, and food sectors in Vietnam.

Regarding Dong Nai, Mr. Toan emphasized that it is one of the country’s key localities for industrial development and attracting foreign direct investment. Effective April 30, 2026, Dong Nai will officially become a city directly under central government administration, ushering in a new phase of development with enhanced status and growth momentum. In this context, the FDI business community—particularly Japanese companies—continues to play a vital role in the province’s socioeconomic development.

A representative from BIDV’s Dong Nai Branch stated that, based on the practical needs of Vietnam-Japan Fertilizer Company and its distributor network, the branch collaborated with relevant departments at BIDV’s headquarters to research, develop, and finalize a financing program for the distributor network. This program is expected to help Vietnam-Japan Fertilizer Company’s distributors gain easier access to capital, improve cash flow management efficiency, and enhance their business capabilities. At the same time, the program will also contribute to driving sales growth and fostering the sustainable development of the company’s distribution ecosystem.

At the ceremony, Mr. Jiro Nishiyama, General Director of Vietnam-Japan Fertilizer Company, noted that the company was established in 1995 as a joint venture between two Japanese partners: Nissho Iwai Corporation (now Sojitz Corporation) and Central Glass Company. The company has a total investment of 39.75 million USD and built the Vietnam-Japan NPK Plant in the Go Dau Industrial Park, Phuoc Thai Commune, Dong Nai. The plant has a designed capacity of 350,000 metric tons of NPK.

According to Mr. Jiro Nishiyama, since beginning operations in 1998, Vietnam-Japan Fertilizer Company has established a distribution network spanning from the north to the south of the country. The company has supplied the Vietnamese market with more than 5.5 million metric tons of high-quality NPK fertilizer, helping to enhance the value of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market. As early as 2000, Vietnam-Japan Fertilizer Company and BIDV established a business relationship, with Vietnam-Japan Fertilizer Company serving as BIDV Dong Nai Branch’s first foreign-invested enterprise (FDI) client at that time.

The signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement between BIDV’s Dong Nai Branch and Vietnam-Japan Fertilizer Company is considered a significant milestone in the partnership between the two parties. This not only lays the foundation for the effective implementation of the distributor chain financing program but also opens up opportunities for deeper and broader cooperation in the future. Through this, the program contributes to creating practical financial solutions for businesses, distributors, and other stakeholders.
