These ratings reflect BIC’s strong financial capacity, sound business performance, solid track record, and a safe and effective risk management system.

BIC’s strong financial capacity is confirmed by its risk-adjusted capitalization, which continues to remain at the highest level, as measured by the BCAR (Best’s Capital Adequacy Ratio). In addition, BIC has a strong ability to generate capital from its intrinsic capabilities by maintaining operational efficiency and stable profit growth over many years, along with a reasonable dividend payment plan; as a result, BIC’s risk-adjusted capital continues to meet requirements well and aligns with the parent company’s development strategy. Stable internal capital generation is a crucial foundation that helps BIC strengthen its financial capacity and create room for long-term business growth.

In 2026, BIC will continue to pursue a safe, efficient, and highly liquid investment strategy, focusing primarily on deposits and bonds to generate stable and sustainable revenue. At the same time, reinsurance efforts will be prioritized to strengthen financial protection against major risks and natural disasters. BIC’s reinsurance partners are reputable reinsurers with strong financial capabilities and credit ratings of A- or higher.

BIC’s key performance indicators continue to receive positive evaluations from AM Best. During the 2021–2025 period, the average return on equity (ROE) remained high (16%) thanks to insurance profit margins that have remained stable over the years, demonstrating BIC’s sustainable profitability from its business operations. In addition, stable income from deposits and securities investments continues to be a significant contributor to BIC’s total profits. Stable insurance business performance, combined with a prudent investment strategy, creates a solid foundation for BIC to maintain profitability and sustainable capital-generation capacity in the long term.

BIC’s risk management framework has also been highly rated by AM Best as appropriate for its scale and operational realities, thanks to technical support, expertise, and oversight from its parent bank, BIDV, and strategic partner Fairfax.
