BIC holds 2025 year-end conference and launches 2026 business plan

According to data from the Vietnam Insurance Association, in 2025, Vietnam's non-life insurance market recorded a recovery with total original insurance premium revenue reaching VND 88,071 billion, an increase of 11% compared to 2025. However, alongside positive signals of growth, the industry also faces many challenges. Companies are forced to review and adjust their retail product portfolios to meet modern pricing requirements. At the same time, increased risk levels have led to significantly higher compensation pressures compared to previous years. Since the end of the third quarter of 2025, extreme weather events have occurred consecutively; many storms have caused severe damage in the Central, Central Highlands, and Northern regions. Along with the aftermath of natural disasters from 2024, the non-life insurance market is also under additional pressure from the "tightening" trend in the international reinsurance market.

In this context, BIC still maintained its growth momentum and positive business indicators. Reporting to the Conference on business results for 2025, BIC Board Member and CEO Doan Thi Thu Huyen said that the total insurance premium revenue of BIC's parent company last year reached nearly VND 5,350 billion. Of this, gross insurance premium revenue reached nearly VND 5,250 billion, helping BIC maintain its position as the fifth-largest player in terms of gross insurance premium revenue market share.

Notably, BIC's performance indicators in 2025 recorded impressive results, despite the market facing high compensation pressures. Consolidated pre-tax profit reached over VND 680 billion, basically completing the 2025 profit plan. Of which, pre-tax profit alone reached over VND 650 billion, a slight increase compared to the previous year. In particular, BIC continued to record high profits from insurance business activities.

Entering 2026 - a pivotal year of a new development phase, BIC remains committed to pursuing a selective growth strategy, linking scale expansion with improving quality and operational efficiency. The company focuses on strengthening its core businesses, developing potential market segments, diversifying distribution channels, and promoting digital transformation. At the same time, BIC is strengthening financial discipline and standardizing risk management to create a foundation for sustainable long-term growth. On that basis, BIC aims to maintain its position in non-life insurance operations, improve operational efficiency, maintain its position as one of the top three non-life insurers with the highest profitability in the market, and gradually affirm its role as one of the most efficient and standard non-life insurance companies in Vietnam.

In his speech at the conference, Mr. Tran Hoai An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BIC, highly appreciated the results achieved by the BIC system in the context of the non-life insurance market facing many difficulties in 2025. Mr. Tran Hoai An requested that the Leadership Board and the entire BIC system continue to leverage the foundations that have been built, transforming them into substantial, disciplined, and effective growth. At the same time, it is necessary to focus on building a flexible and unified operating system that increasingly meets the competitive standards of the market. He also emphasized the need to remain steadfast in the direction of strong growth, but always within the framework of strict risk management, ensuring safety and compliance with BIC's governance standards, maintaining a balance between expansion and risk control, and aiming for a sustainable development model in 2026.

The conference recognized and rewarded member departments/units that excelled in their tasks in 2025, while also honoring leading collectives among member units and the Head Office in 2025.

Within the framework of the summary conference, BIC also launched many meaningful programs such as: the 2026 Labor Conference, the 2026 Expanded Party Committee Conference, the "Sacred Night" program at Hoa Lo Prison, The 2025 Sao Kim Award Ceremony for the most outstanding individuals and collectives of the year; and the launch of the 2026 business plan and a workshop to discuss operational and business policies. These activities have contributed to strengthening cohesion throughout the system, inspiring the spirit of solidarity and determination of the BIC collective, and creating momentum for units to be ready to overcome difficulties and challenges and continue to strive for positive results in 2026.
