On August 11, 2025, at Hana Bank's Headquarters, BIDV General Director Le Ngoc Lam had a high-level meeting with Hana Bank General Director Lee Ho Sung to discuss the implementation of cooperation within the framework of the Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA) for the period 2025 - 2029 and the direction of cooperation between the two sides in the coming time.

Based on the results achieved from the cooperation period 2019 - 2024, Hana Bank's second term dispatched staff has quickly caught up and closely coordinated with BIDV's functional units to deploy technical support items, contributing to improving the bank's business performance.

In 2025, the strategic cooperation between BIDV - Hana Bank was marked by many practical results, notably the successful organization of two seminars and workshops: "Human resource management associated with corporate culture" and "Sharing experiences in building a CRM system", attracting the attention and active participation of a large number of BIDV staff, creating a forum for exchanging experiences, spreading knowledge enthusiastically and promoting practical application in management and operations.

In particular, the project to deploy cross-border QR payment between Vietnam and Korea, implemented by BIDV Card and Operation Center in coordination with Napas and GLN (a member unit of Hana Bank), has created a highlight in the cooperation between the two sides, when the two banks take on the role of settlement banks in each country. With this project, the leaders of both sides assessed this as a "smart" solution in the context of QR code payment growing strongly, along with the significant increase in the number of two-way tourists between Vietnam and Korea every year.

Regarding this project, General Director Lee Ho Sung also shared that Hana Bank has just been officially selected as the settlement bank of Korea in the "Cross-border QR payment service" project implemented by the Korea Financial Telecommunications and Payments Agency (KFTC). To perform the role of the settlement bank of the Korean market, Hana Bank is currently urgently deploying to complete the information technology system serving the project and is expected to review and test the system in September 2025. This is an important preparation step and is even more meaningful in the context that the two banks are actively coordinating to soon put the service into operation in both directions: Vietnam Inbound (Korean tourists pay in Vietnam) and Vietnam Outbound (Vietnamese tourists pay in Korea).

In addition to the ongoing cooperation projects, General Director Le Ngoc Lam and General Director Lee Ho Sung also discussed the financial market situation, investment prospects in each country, and discussed new cooperation directions in the coming time. In particular, the leaders of both sides paid special attention to potential areas near major cities, with a concentration of Korean enterprises and developing transport infrastructure to serve trade such as Bac Ninh and Dong Nai, and assessed these as areas where the two banks should focus on developing business in the coming time.
