On October 4, amid a sea of flags and flowers on West Lake, the Mai Vang Team, representing BIDV, delivered a spectacular performance, winning First Place in the category for domestic clubs, organizations, and businesses at the 2026 Hanoi Open Dragon Boat and SUP Race.
The Hanoi Open Dragon Boat and SUP Race at West Lake
The 2026 Hanoi Open Dragon Boat and SUP Race took place over two days, October 3 and 4, on the waters of West Lake, at Ly Tu Trong Flower Garden, and along Nguyen Dinh Thi and Thanh Nien Streets (Tay Ho Ward). The event is organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in collaboration with the Communications Department of Vietnam Airlines, with support from the West Lake Rowing Club and the Tay Ho Ward People’s Committee.

As a large-scale sports and cultural event aimed at commemorating the Liberation of the Capital, this year’s competition brought together nearly 900 athletes to compete. Among them, the dragon boat category featured 48 racing teams, while the SUP category attracted 172 athletes (including 29 international athletes). The enthusiastic participation of embassies, international organizations, provinces and cities, and major corporations created a spectacular water festival—vibrant with color and brimming with passion.

The Mai Vang Team’s Breakthrough Run Stirred Up the Race
Competing in the division for domestic clubs, organizations, and businesses, the Mai Vang Team (BIDV) demonstrated their mettle, discipline, and determination to win right from the very first strokes of the oars.

After intense and dramatic moments of competition on the green waters of West Lake, with rhythmic, synchronized strokes and excellent teamwork among the rowers, the Mai Vang Team made a spectacular breakaway to the finish line with an impressive time of 3 minutes 1.85, officially claiming the top spot on the podium with First Place in the Organizations and Enterprises Division.
Affirming BIDV’s Spirit and Culture
The Mai Vàng Team’s resounding victory not only demonstrated their physical strength and enduring competitive skills but also served as a vivid testament to the spirit of “Unity – Resilience – Discipline – Aspiration” among BIDV’s executives and employees. The synchronized rhythm of the oars on the waters of West Lake also symbolizes the unity and determination of the BIDV collective to reach new heights on every journey of development.
Through its participation and outstanding performance at the 2026 Hanoi Open Dragon Boat and SUP Championship, BIDV continues to affirm its image as a leading financial institution—dynamic, open-minded, and always committed to supporting cultural and sporting activities while enriching the spiritual life of the community in the capital city of Hanoi.
Congratulations to the Mai Vang Team on their glorious victory! May they continue to spread positive energy and pride in the BIDV brand!
