BIDV contributes to fostering Vietnam - Laos relationship
On the afternoon of July 23, 2025 in Hanoi, BIDV's Board of Directors organized a working program with the delegation of department-level and equivalent officials of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
At the meeting, on behalf of BIDV's Board of Directors, General Director Le Ngoc Lam briefly introduced BIDV's 68-year development journey and shared the bank's outstanding business performance and BIDV's commercial presence in Laos. Comrade Le Ngoc Lam emphasized: Laos has always been a key market with long-term strategic significance, an important component in BIDV's integration and market expansion, brand development and foreign relations.

Based on information about BIDV, members of the Lao delegation asked many questions to learn about BIDV's experience in business operations and the factors that contributed to its success; at the same time, they learned about BIDV's experience in responding to global fluctuations, as well as its digital transformation strategy and policies towards employees...
At the working program, Comrade Mai-phong Mai-xai - Party Committee member, Principal of the University of Health Sciences, Ministry of Health, Head of the delegation of department-level cadres of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party - expressed his gratitude for BIDV's warm welcome and congratulated the impressive achievements the bank has achieved over the past 68 years. He highly appreciated BIDV's efforts in funding economic projects, supporting businesses, as well as contributing to social security activities in Laos. He affirmed that the Lao-Viet Joint Venture Bank (Lao Viet Bank) has truly become a symbol of effective cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the end of the working program, Comrade Phan Duc Tu - Party Secretary, Chairman of BIDV Board of Directors - expressed his wish to continue receiving the attention and direction of the Party, State, Government, ministries and businesses of Laos. Thereby, BIDV's commercial presence in Laos can well perform assigned political and economic tasks, and carry out business activities methodically and effectively. Comrade Phan Duc Tu affirmed: BIDV will continue to devote the best resources to support the operations of Lao Viet Bank in the coming time.

The success of the working program has contributed to affirming BIDV's proactive and responsible spirit in implementing the major foreign policies of the Party and State, practically contributing to fostering the relationship of "great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation" between Vietnam and Laos "forever green, forever sustainable".
