BIDV Ha Tinh: Valuable experiences and humanity

It has been 25 years since I was a student with the ambition and enthusiasm of youth until I was fortunate enough to become and grow up as a member of the BIDV family. Everything happened like a dream, a gift of life, my destiny with BIDV Ha Tinh...

The beginning of a dream

It was a chance for me to meet dynamic, creative and enthusiastic brothers and sisters. At BIDV Ha Tinh, I learned about professional skills, behavior, relationships with leaders and colleagues, about humanity - intelligence - trust - courtesy - righteousness... Among the range of emotions and diverse experiences about the environment, relationships and work during 25 years of attachment, I remember most the impression of the first years of getting acquainted with credit work and the warm camaraderie of colleagues here.

In the early days of working in credit, lending was a difficult concept for me to explain. I only imagined it as taking money from the bank to lend to customers, then collecting debts. From a capital planning officer who only knew how to set up planning targets, give goals and solutions to advise the Board of Directors on effective business operations, I volunteered to go to the front line to work in credit. With everything being strange and difficult, I had to learn everything to adapt to the new job.

That was about 21 years ago, I was assigned to the Personal Customer Department, which was also the time when the entire branch was expanding loans to the customer segment of teachers in kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools. In that campaign, I was assigned to lend to the Ky Anh district (Ky Hop commune, Ky Tay). This is a mountainous district bordering Laos, about 80 km from Ha Tinh city, with very poor traffic infrastructure at that time; the road to the area was mainly mountainous with steep rocky slopes or sharp turns on the edge of abysses and spillways with few people passing by, each house was separated by a very wild and remote hill, making each trip a dangerous journey but also full of memories.

There were times on that dangerous road, I couldn’t help but feel scared and ask myself: “If the car brakes fail and falls into the abyss, will I be remembered like the soldiers who sacrificed? Or if I am harmed by bad guys, will anyone know that I am lying here?”… but my will, determination and responsibility for the job urged me to keep going. Although the work was difficult, I still felt very happy when the bank capital was really effective, the life of teachers in the mountainous area was increasingly improved and enhanced.

Humanity in hardship

Working in credit, even if it was just to carry out my duties, gave me the opportunity to witness many difficult situations, thereby cultivating in me compassion, empathy and sharing with the community. I realized that collecting the principal and interest is only part of the task, more importantly is helping customers regain stability so that they can overcome difficulties and restore their lives.

Many times I had to shed tears when witnessing the dire circumstances of customers. There are memories that are deeply engraved in my memory, such as the time I had lunch with teachers at a school in the mountains. On the dining table, besides the rice pot, there was only a plate of boiled young jackfruit, but many people still exclaimed because they usually only had rice with fish sauce. Or the story of kindergarten teacher Le Thi Thi (Ky Dong kindergarten, Ky Anh district) - a single mother with special circumstances, every time I went to collect debt, I witnessed her monthly salary was only enough for medicine for her child who had just had an accident... faced with that situation, the staff felt discouraged and left. Although I felt sad, I knew that the companionship of BIDV Ha Tinh helped her overcome the difficult times, so that after many years she could pay off all her bank debt.

Such situations make me understand the value of my work, success in credit work comes not only from the amount of money earned but also from the revival of lives that have been difficult.

Perhaps compassion, more sharing, more empathy in me began to grow from those little stories.

Branch - Second Family

Credit work is really hard, in addition to good professional skills, each officer must also hone life skills, have the ability to endure hardships and even endure occupational risks. There were times when I thought I had to give up and surrender to the fatigue of work, but at the most difficult time, I received an invisible source of strength from the encouragement and help of my colleagues at the branch.

The care and support of everyone has helped me to be more confident in my credit journey. It is a great spiritual resource expressed through caring gestures or encouraging words whenever I encounter difficulties at work. To me, BIDV Ha Tinh is a big family, where colleagues are relatives, companions - people who by some chance meet each other on the career path, accidentally heading towards a common goal, heading towards the BIDV roof.

Every day, I am fortunate to meet and work with talented, enthusiastic colleagues. The hard work cannot stop the joy, optimism and excitement on each person's face. Each person has a task, a job function, but when sitting together to share, listen, and tell each other stories in life, in general, there is sympathy, a "sincere empathy" typical of BIDV. Above all, each person holds an important link to complete the common goal together, they are important pieces, factors that form the picture of BIDV Ha Tinh.

The journey ahead

The integrated economy brings great opportunities but also many potential risks and challenges. Facing such changes, I understand that the solidarity of colleagues will be a solid foundation for BIDV to continue to develop strongly. BIDV's traditional values lie not only in history but also in the continuity between generations of staff.

In particular, today's young generation - the new staff joining the BIDV Ha Tinh family - will be the ones to inherit and promote the glorious tradition of previous generations. With their dynamism, creativity and desire to improve, we believe that they will not only maintain BIDV's core values but also take the system further in the context of competitive integration.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of BIDV Ha Tinh, I would like to express my deep gratitude to each generation of BIDV staff - wonderful colleagues who have devoted their enthusiasm and youth to the system.

Hopefully BIDV Ha Tinh in particular and BIDV system in general will develop more and more, not only to be the common home of generations of dedicated staff but also to be a bright torch guiding the younger generation to continue writing proud pages of history of the system.
