BIDV: One Heart—Connecting Acts of Kindness

BIDV • October 1, 2026, 1:10 p.m.

On September 22, 2026, in Võ Lao Commune, Lào Cai Province, the BIDV Appraisal and Approval Center’s grassroots labor union, the BIDV Hanoi Branch Labor Union, and the BIDV Lao Cai Branch Labor Union, in collaboration with the local Party committee and government, organized the inauguration and handover of the Lu 3 village road project.

Pooling Social Welfare Resources with the BIDV Labor Union

The project is the result of joint efforts, shared commitment, and coordinated responsibility among the three BIDV grassroots labor unions, all directing their social welfare resources toward an area still facing many challenges. Each unit made its own contribution, but they shared a common goal: to provide the community with a practical project that serves their long-term needs and helps drive local socioeconomic development.

When units share responsibility and focus on the community

This spirit of sharing received active support from the Party committee, local authorities, and especially the residents of Lu 3 Village. During the project’s implementation, 14 households voluntarily donated land, dismantled fences and outbuildings, and handed over the site without requesting compensation. It was this unity among the sponsoring organization, the local authorities, and the residents that enabled the project to be completed after two months of intensive construction.

Integrating Labor Union Activities with Community Responsibility

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Comrade Duong Duc Toan—Secretary of the Vo Lao Commune Party Committee—expressed his joy and deep appreciation for the support and partnership of BIDV units. He affirmed that the new road would make it easier for residents to travel and conduct business, while also contributing to the improvement of rural transportation infrastructure and gradually enhancing the people’s standard of living.

Representing the three BIDV grassroots trade unions that jointly funded the project, Ms. Trần Phương Oanh—Chair of the Grassroots Trade Union and Deputy Director of BIDV’s Hanoi Branch—shared her joy that the resources collectively contributed today have materialized into a concrete and useful project for the local community. This also continues the spirit that the BIDV Labor Union and its grassroots unions have upheld over the years: integrating labor union activities with social responsibility, strengthening connections among units, and working together to support the community, especially in areas still facing difficulties.

The joy of the inauguration was made even more meaningful by the remarks of Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Dung—Secretary of the Party Branch and Head of the Lu 3 Village Development Committee. The village currently has 256 households with nearly 2,000 residents, primarily members of the Tay, Dao, and Xa Pho ethnic groups, whose livelihoods largely depend on agriculture. The old road was only 2–3 meters wide, muddy during the rainy season and dusty during the dry season. The dream of a well-built concrete road had existed for many years, but local resources remained limited.

Today, that dream has become a reality with a 6-meter-wide, more than 530-meter-long concrete road, which makes it easier for residents to travel and conduct business while gradually improving the rural landscape.

From the generosity of the three BIDV grassroots labor unions, the responsible involvement of the local government, to the united spirit of the people, these individual resources have come together to create a shared value.
