BIDV Phu My: Promoting a Culture of Reading, Cultivating the Value of "Leadership from Within"
To mark Vietnam’s Book and Reading Culture Day, BIDV Phu My organized a meaningful book donation event, helping to nurture critical thinking and spread the bank’s core values to every employee.
The event, held on April 21, 2026, was not merely a celebration of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day but also a special spiritual gift marking the 69th anniversary of BIDV’s founding, the 30th anniversary of the BIDV Trade Union, and the 20th anniversary of the Branch’s establishment. At the ceremony, the Executive Board of the Local Trade Union presented the Management Board and all employees with the book "The Leader Without a Title" by Robin Sharma—a classic work on management philosophy and personal development.
By selecting this book, the BIDV Phu My Trade Union conveys a profound message about redefining the concept of leadership in the modern workplace. The book emphasizes that leadership ability does not depend on one’s position or title on a business card, but rather on the choices of action and attitude toward life that each individual makes. Through this, every bank employee—regardless of their role, from tellers and risk management officers to back-office staff—is inspired to become a “leader” in their own work through the highest sense of responsibility and an exceptional dedication to service.
A culture of reading is being fostered and spread
This book-giving initiative has strongly ignited the spirit of self-learning and a culture of reading at the branch, creating an environment where staff can reflect together and discuss positive life values. This is also an essential step toward instilling the five core values of BIDV’s culture: "Intelligence - Trust - Integrity - Compassion - Aspiration." Building a team where every individual is aware of their own "leadership" role will serve as a solid foundation for BIDV Phu My to build a united, professional collective, ready to conquer new goals on its 20-year journey of sustainable development.
