With a history of 68 years of establishment and development, BIDV is the oldest financial institution in Vietnam, always steadfast in its mission of bringing benefits and conveniences to customers, shareholders, employees and the community. Since converting its operations to a commercial banking model in 1995, equitizing with its strategic partner Hanabank - Korea's leading financial group in 2019, especially in the past 10 years, BIDV has had a spectacular change in the field of retail banking service development. From a traditional bank providing financial services to businesses, BIDV has now become the bank with the largest individual customer base in the system of credit institutions with more than 22 million customers. By the end of 2024, outstanding loans and capital mobilization from retail customers have both reached and exceeded the 1 million billion VND mark. The number of customers using digital banking platforms has grown impressively – from 4.5 million in 2019 to more than 16 million in 2025.

BIDV’s efforts have been honored by The Asian Banker Magazine as “Best Retail Bank in Vietnam” for 10 consecutive years. This success is the result of the right strategic vision, solidarity and relentless efforts of BIDV’s team, including the mark of dedicated and creative leadership of Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Giao – Head of retail banking at BIDV.
