BIDV DONATES THE CQ-01 BOAT TO THE NAVY

On the morning of June 5, 2026, in Hai Phong City, the Navy, in collaboration with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and four commercial banks—BIDV, Agribank, Vietcombank, and VietinBank—held a handover ceremony for six CQ-01 boats. This practical initiative contributes to enhancing the capabilities needed to fulfill the mission of safeguarding the nation’s maritime and island sovereignty.

Attendees included Rear Admiral Do Quoc An, Deputy Commander of the Navy; heads of relevant departments within the Navy; and representatives of the leadership of units and enterprises supporting the program.

The CQ-01 boats are equipped to transport personnel, cargo, and essential supplies, as well as to carry out routine missions in the Spratly Islands. At the conference, delegates heard reports on the results of the new construction, factory acceptance, and the signing of the handover protocol for the CQ-01 boats to the Navy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dang Van Tuyen, a member of the BIDV Board of Directors and representative of the four sponsoring banks, affirmed: “The handover of the six CQ-01 boats holds practical significance in enhancing the Navy’s logistical and technical support capabilities. With financial support of 5.2 billion VND from each bank, these boats will effectively serve training and combat readiness efforts, while also supporting officers, soldiers, and fishermen in the Spratly Islands to remain steadfast at sea, thereby contributing to the firm defense of the nation’s maritime and island sovereignty.”

On behalf of the Naval Command, Rear Admiral Do Quoc An sincerely thanked the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the four commercial banks for their partnership; while affirming that the handover of six CQ-01 boats not only enhances the Navy’s operational capabilities but also serves as a vivid symbol of military-civilian solidarity, further motivating officers and soldiers to firmly hold their weapons in defense of the nation’s sacred maritime and island sovereignty.
