BIDV Trade Union is actively implementing a program to support the construction of more than 300 houses with a total cost of up to 19 billion VND in remote areas across the country.

From the major policies of the Party and Government to the practical actions of the Trade Union, BIDV Trade Union has lit up hope from solid houses in difficult areas...

The situation of temporary and dilapidated houses - which used to be a "persistent pain" in remote areas and ethnic minority areas - not only affects the quality of life of the people but also hinders the country's sustainable development goals. Recognizing this situation, the Party and the Government have issued many breakthrough policies and resolutions, including the Project "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households" approved by the Prime Minister with specific goals, a clear roadmap and the spirit of "no one is left behind".

The movement has received the participation of the entire political system, from the central to local levels, socio-political organizations to the business community. In particular, the Trade Union organizations, as companions of workers and society, have demonstrated a pioneering spirit in joining hands to realize the goal of sustainable poverty reduction and improving the quality of people's lives.

Specific actions for the community

Responding to that humane policy, BIDV Trade Union has been actively implementing a program to support the construction of more than 300 houses, with a total cost of up to 19 billion VND, in mountainous, remote and border provinces where people still face many difficulties. Each house is supported with 50-70 million VND, along with the counterpart from the locality and households, creating solid and spacious homes for people.

From the beginning of 2024 to mid-2025, dozens of houses bearing the words "BIDV Trade Union - Golden heart building warm homes" were inaugurated and put into use in the provinces of Ha Giang, Son La, Dien Bien, Quang Tri, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak...

In Ban Cuom 2 village, Ngoc Duong commune (Ha Giang), Mr. Luu Huu Tinh, born in 1959, Tay ethnic group, is a policy family (his brother and younger brother are both martyrs), Mr. Tinh himself is severely disabled, and comes from a farming family. Previously, his family lived in a house with bamboo walls, a temporary roof, and uneven ground. Every time it rained heavily, water flooded into the house, and the children did not dare to sleep for fear of it collapsing. Receiving support of 60 million VND from BIDV Labor Union, his family was able to build a sturdy level 4 house on new ground. On the day of handing over the house, Mr. Tinh emotionally said: “For the first time in decades, I have a real house. My children now study indoors without worrying about the rain and wind. Thank you for the golden hearts of the bank staff. Now that we have a new house, my family will try to work hard to raise and educate our children…”

Mr. Ly Van To - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Sin Suoi Ho commune, Lai Chau province - shared: "While the budget is still limited, having additional resources from organizations such as BIDV Trade Union is extremely valuable. Not only helping people settle down, these projects also have the meaning of encouraging the spirit, strengthening the trust in the Party, the State, and organizations in the political system."

Mr. Luong Van Huan - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Na Meo Commune, Thanh Hoa Province - also highly appreciated the humanity of the program. He said: "Not simply building houses, the program is like 'transmitting positive energy' to the community. People receive practical attention and feel that they are not abandoned."

In particular, responding to Directive No. 42/CT dated November 9, 2024 of the Prime Minister on accelerating the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, BIDV Trade Union has also chosen to focus on 01 locality, Quang Tri province, to implement the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses from the Trade Union's social fund. This is a meaningful key social security program of BIDV Trade Union in 2025 to welcome the 15th BIDV Party Congress, towards welcoming the 14th National Party Congress.

Ms. Ho Thi Luoi (Pa Hy village, Ta Long commune, now Darkong commune, Quang Tri province) has lived in a dilapidated wooden house for more than 20 years. When receiving support to build a house from BIDV Labor Union, she was moved: “I used to think that I would have to live in this dilapidated house for the rest of my life, but thanks to this program, we now have a solid, sturdy roof. We no longer have to worry about wind or rain leaks. I am happy because my children and grandchildren will have less hardship.”

As of September 2025, BIDV Trade Union has completed supporting the handover of 288 houses in 23 provinces and cities across the country. Many localities have difficult terrain, affected by the rainy and stormy season, making it difficult to transport materials, but with determination and effective coordination between the trade union and local authorities, progress is always guaranteed. From now until the end of 2025, grassroots trade unions strive to complete the handover of houses to households.

In addition to providing material support, the Trade Union staff of BIDV branches also directly went to the locality to survey, encourage and join the people in starting and completing each project. This shows that this is not just a program launched but a journey of dedication and devotion for the people. It is not only a story about material things, it is also a journey of sowing love, spreading the spirit of "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves", connecting BIDV and the community.

BIDV Trade Union also actively participated in the program to support the Banking industry movement "Join hands to eliminate 1,000 temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Vietnam Banking Trade Union. All BIDV staff and employees joined hands to contribute 1 day's salary with a total amount of more than 13.8 billion VND. All of this money was deducted and submitted to the Vietnam Banking Trade Union to implement the program.

From small home to big responsibility

Looking back on the past journey, it can be seen that the BIDV Trade Union's program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is not simply a social security activity but a vivid demonstration of political responsibility, national morality, and also a clear expression of "studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style".

Each new roof is a step forward in the journey to realize the aspiration of building a strong Vietnam, where people can live in basic conditions, have the opportunity to rise up and contribute back to the community. Trade unions - including BIDV Trade Union - are contributing to that great journey every day, with concrete, persistent and humane actions.

The movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is transforming into a wave of positive action in society. BIDV Trade Union's proactive participation with a specific plan, linked to each locality, transparent in implementation and close in organization and implementation is an effective model that needs to be replicated throughout the trade union system, especially in large enterprises.

With enthusiasm, responsibility and belief in change, each BIDV union officer is contributing to building warm homes, spreading sharing and arousing the strength of national solidarity.
