“Books and Autumn” has become a meeting place for people who cherish every page of a book and honor the value of continuous learning.

On the afternoon of September 26, 2025, in the cool and fresh weather of Hanoi's autumn, book lovers gathered together in the talk show "Books and Autumn". The program was organized by the Credit Risk Management Department (formerly the Bank-wide Risk Management Department) with the goal of spreading the reading culture in the BIDVer community.

“Books and Autumn” has become a meeting place for people who cherish every page of a book and honor the value of continuous learning. The presence of special guests such as Mr. Tran Quang Binh - Deputy Head of Finance and Accounting, Director of Planning Department; Ms. Ngo Thi Lien Huong - Director of Customer Service Center, representative of BIDV Book Store; Mr. Nguyen Trong Co - Deputy Director of Integrated Risk Management Department contributed to making the program more solemn and profound.

At the beginning of the program, Mr. Nong Ha Hao - Director of Credit Risk Management Department - shared his sincere and profound thoughts about his love for books as well as the importance of reading in the journey of conquering knowledge and improving personal value. His reading habit was formed early and honed during his time working away from home, as a therapy to help him keep his mind balanced and steadfast in the face of work pressure. Moreover, he also devoted much effort to passing on that passion to the next generation, considering reading as an effective way to develop thinking and limit the negative influence of social networks and modern entertainment media. An excerpt of an interview with Mr. Nong Ha Hao about his memoir "Never a failure, all are challenges" at the program clearly demonstrated that spirit.

Next, the guests also shared multi-dimensional and profound perspectives on reading and the spirit of continuous learning in the context of strong digital transformation taking place today.

The autumn afternoon atmosphere became lively and intimate with the group activity “Mini Book Talk”, where the staff were divided into four small groups to discuss and exchange their own perspectives and feelings about reading. Many books and famous authors were introduced, such as Blue Ocean Strategy, Dang Thuy Tram and the Third Diary, The Islamic Path, I Am a Donkey, Pick Up Your Backpack and Go, Nguyen Phuong Mai, Huyen Chip, Dan Brown… There were also opinions mentioning audiobooks as a flexible form of “reading” books, suitable for modern life, or contributing effective measures to promote and maintain the habit of reading books…

Throughout the program, Mr. Nong Ha Hao with his extensive knowledge continuously kept the rhythm and inspired everyone, along with the enthusiastic and passionate sharing of the groups, the laughter and applause were endless, helping the discussion become fun, close and the program became more meaningful.

This is also an opportunity for the program organizers to express their gratitude to individuals who have silently accompanied and stuck with the Credit Risk Management Board Bookstore for 5 years of operation, and at the same time launched the movement "One book per month" with the hope of creating a new step, spreading the reading culture more widely and persistently.

The program ended but the deep echoes still lingered in everyone's heart. "Books and Autumn" was a small event, but it was warm and full of emotions, creating an unforgettable impression in the hearts of the participants. This activity model is expected to be increasingly replicated in many units, so that meetings like this - where knowledge and emotions blend - will continue to bloom, helping each autumn in Hanoi become more poetic and profound through each page of a book.
