Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Visits and Greets BIDV for the Lunar New Year

In the joyful atmosphere of the first working days of the new year 2026, BIDV was honored to welcome Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, who visited, encouraged, and wished the bank a happy new year.

This is a particularly meaningful activity, providing additional motivation for nearly 30,000 employees throughout the BIDV system to strive to successfully achieve business goals right from the start of the year.

Speaking at the meeting, Governor Nguyen Thi Hong sent New Year wishes for health, happiness, and peace to the entire leadership and families of BIDV's officers and employees. Reviewing the impressive results of the banking industry in 2025, the Governor highly appreciated the role of BIDV as a "leading commercial bank and pillar," always taking the lead in implementing the policies of the Party, the Government, and the State Bank. The Governor emphasized that, amid a volatile global economy, BIDV has made significant contributions to controlling inflation, stabilizing the macroeconomy, and, in particular, effectively implementing social welfare programs, demonstrating a spirit of solidarity and mutual support for the community.

Reporting to the Governor on the results of operations, Mr. Le Ngoc Lam - General Director of BIDV said that 2025 was a remarkably successful year for the bank. BIDV continued to maintain its position as number one in the system in terms of total assets when it became the first bank to exceed the milestone of VND 3.27 million billion, an increase of 20% over the previous year. Pre-tax profit reached over VND 35,600 billion, completing 111% of the plan assigned by the State Bank. Notably, the bank's green credit balance reached over VND 82,000 billion, affirming BIDV's commitment to promoting sustainable growth.

Particularly during the recent Lunar New Year holiday, BIDV ensured its information technology system and ATM network operated smoothly and securely to meet the surge in transaction demand from the public. On the peak day of December 23, the system processed a record of over 24 million transactions, an increase of 40% over the same period. In addition, the bank also allocated over VND 43 billion for social welfare activities during the Lunar New Year, bringing a warm Tet to disadvantaged people across the country.

Moving into 2026, with the motto "Discipline - Quality and Efficiency - Comprehensive Transformation," BIDV aims to continue its leading role in the market, accelerate digital transformation, and enhance risk management capabilities. The bank strives to be among the top 100 largest banks in Asia in terms of asset size and financial strength.

In the warm atmosphere of the meeting, Governor Nguyen Thi Hong and BIDV's leadership team carried out a beautiful tradition in the traditional Tet celebration culture, which is "lucky money" through a digital platform to all employees in the system. The Governor's attention to the BIDV system is a great encouragement to the collective of BIDV employees, adding confidence to a promising new year, enabling BIDV to continue to grow and contribute positively to the country's prosperous development.
