Join hands to build a school for children in Lao Cai
With the desire to join hands to support children in mountainous areas to have better learning conditions, especially in localities affected by storm Yagi in 2024, BIDV has sponsored the construction of Sin Chai school, belonging to Trinh Tuong Commune Kindergarten, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province.
Recently, BIDV Lao Cai, representing the Trade Union of BIDV Headquarters, coordinated with local authorities to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of Sin Chai school. The project has a total value of 1.2 billion VND, of which the Trade Union of Headquarters contributed 800 million VND, BIDV Trade Union supported 200 million VND and the locality matched 200 million VND. The sponsorship for the school construction is the result of a series of fundraising activities in the HO Happy Day sports program and the BIDV Cultural Ambassador Competition of Headquarters in 2024.
Bat Xat district is a poor border area, suffering heavy losses in human lives and property after Typhoon Yagi. Roads were cut off, many schools were buried, people's lives fell into difficulty and isolation. Among them, Sin Chai school, built in 2012, currently has 02 classrooms with 32 students, a temporary structure with iron frames, plastered bamboo walls, and corrugated iron roofs damaged and degraded after the storm.
With funding from BIDV and local authorities, The new school includes a solid one-story classroom building, with two classrooms and five functional rooms, designed to meet safe learning conditions for teachers and students.
Sponsoring the construction of Sin Chai school not only contributes to providing spacious facilities and improving learning conditions for students, but is also a great source of spiritual motivation for students and teachers in the highlands, spreading BIDV's spirit of compassion and sharing for the community.
