Lao - Vietnam Joint Venture Bank 25 blooming seasons
I was one of the first 24 officers of the Lao-Vietnam Joint Venture Bank. Those first days are always unforgettable memories for me.
On June 22, 1999, LaoVietBank opened and started operating in Vientiane Capital with special attention from the two Governments of Vietnam and Laos, marking a new milestone in the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, Governments and Peoples of Laos and Vietnam in general and cooperation in the banking sector in particular.
LaoVietBank was established when the two countries were affected by the regional economic crisis, especially in Laos where inflation was at a high level. When LaoVietBank first started operating, it had to start almost from scratch (facilities, human resources, customer base, etc.). In addition, at LaoVietBank, Lao and Vietnamese officials also had to learn about the culture, working style, lifestyle, and activities of the two countries. All documents, certificates, and certificates related to operations had to be translated into both Lao and Vietnamese. However, all of these difficulties and challenges were overcome by the collective leadership, officers, and employees of the bank, gradually making LaoVietBank's operations stable and effective, with key indicators increasing year after year. The bank's brand has gradually been affirmed in the financial and monetary market, contributing effectively to economic development, implementing monetary policy in Laos, promoting investment and trade cooperation between enterprises of the two countries, and completing political and economic tasks assigned by the Party, Government and People of the two countries.

Looking back over the past 25 years, I believe that these achievements are due first of all to the attention and close guidance of the Party, Government and Central Bank of the two countries, especially the comprehensive support of the two parent banks: BIDV and BCEL. In addition, the trust and support of customers, the outstanding efforts of the leadership and staff of LaoVietBank through the periods. For my part, I am also very honored and proud to have contributed a small part of my efforts to the common achievements of LaoVietBank today.

25 years have passed, the road ahead is still long and full of difficulties and challenges, but with the tradition and achievements, I believe that the Lao - Vietnamese Joint Venture Bank will have new steps forward, achieve even greater results worthy of the trust of the Party, Government and people of Laos - Vietnam; contributing to making Vietnam - Laos increasingly developed, forever green, forever sustainable.
