Today's Stock Market, March 20: Red Spreads
Selling pressure spread across the entire market, dragging the VN-Index down by more than 50 points and officially breaking through the 1,650-point mark.
BASIC MARKET
The market remained in the red right from the opening bell, though the selling pressure only truly erupted in the afternoon session. At the close, the VN-Index plunged 51.32 points, closing at 1,647.81.
Market breadth leaned heavily toward the negative side, with 16 out of 18 sectors declining, among which Oil & Gas and Chemicals continued to face the heaviest downward pressure.
Regarding foreign trading, foreign investors were net sellers on the HSX and UPCOM but recorded a slight net buy on the HNX.
Technically, the index has now fallen below the 200-day moving average (MA200). This is considered a key threshold distinguishing between a short-term correction and a long-term trend reversal.
In a market environment lacking consensus and with an unclear trend, investors should prioritize risk management and maintain a cautious mindset.

CONTRACTS All futures contracts declined in tandem with the VN30 index.

During the trading session on March 20, 2026, warrants moved in line with the weakening trend.
