Stock Market Today, February 26: VN-Index Rises Sharply Thanks to VIC Shares
Solid support from VIC shares and the recovery of many sectors, especially the banking and securities pillars, helped the VN-Index approach the 1,880-point mark.
BASIC MARKET
The VN-Index rose nearly 19 points today and closed at 1,879.64 points, thanks mainly to VIC shares. The number of declining stocks outnumbered the number of rising stocks, while 13 out of 18 sectors gained points, indicating that cash flow tended to concentrate on specific stocks in each sector. The Real Estate sector led the gains, followed by the Industrial Goods & Services sector. Regarding foreign trading, today this group sold net on all three exchanges, including a net sale of over VND 3 trillion on the HSX. The market returned to a state of uncertainty, with the upward momentum lacking market consensus. In the short term, volatility may occur as the market approaches the old resistance zone of 1,880 – 1,900.
