Warm Spring at the Frontier

On January 26 and 27, 2026, the BIDV Youth Union participated in the 2026 Border Spring Program organized by the Military Science Academy in collaboration with 12 partner units.

Within the framework of the program, the delegation visited, wished a happy new year, and presented gifts to a number of agencies, units, and families facing difficulties, as well as families who have contributed to the revolution in the communes of Chiềng Sơn and Lóng Sập, Sơn La province.

From small-scale charitable activities focused on border communities, the "Xuân Biên Giới" program has grown significantly each year. Each program and each destination has a significant meaning in spreading awareness and directly contributing to helping policy beneficiary families, compatriots, soldiers, and children in the highland border areas to alleviate some of their difficulties during the Lunar New Year. The destination of the 2026 Border Spring Program is the communes bordering Vietnam and Laos in Son La province.

By visiting and delivering gifts to the people, the delegation gained a deeper understanding of the hardships and difficulties of this barren, rocky land. This is the seventh Border Spring Program that the BIDV Youth Union has participated in alongside its partner units. Each program is a different stop along the length of the country's border. There, border guards stand watch day and night, residents struggle against harsh weather, and children go hungry and cold in the winter mountains.

At the Northwest Mobile Training Center, the organizing committee presented more than 750 gifts worth a total of nearly VND 1.4 billion to agencies, units, schools, policy beneficiary families, poor households, and underprivileged students in Chiềng Sơn and Lóng Sập communes. Among them were children who are foster children or godchildren of border guards.

Also within the framework of the program, the delegation visited, presented gifts, and wished a happy new year to the officers and soldiers of the Military Command and the Border Guard Command of Chiềng Sơn and Lóng Sập. These gifts, embodying the warm feelings of the military and the people and comradeship, will motivate the soldiers to stand firm at the front line and protect the national sovereignty in the border areas where there are still many hardships.

The gifts brought by the delegation are tokens of affection and encouragement to the soldiers and people living in the border areas as the 2026 Lunar New Year approaches. May each spring at the border be warm, abundant, and filled with the spirit of military-civilian solidarity.

Witnessing firsthand the difficult circumstances and sharing in the hardships of the people in the border areas, each of us felt compelled to try even harder to bring more meaningful volunteer programs to remote areas across the country. Each member of our working group hopes that one day soon, we will have the opportunity to return and see this place develop further, with the people enjoying a warmer, more abundant life, and the students having better living and learning conditions.
