BIDV Named Investors’ Favorite at the 2026 IR Awards: A Testament to Transparency and Trust

Secretariat and Shareholder Relations • September 28, 2026, 2:25 PM

Vietnam Investment and Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (BIDV, stock code BID) was recognized as one of the Top 3 companies with investor relations (IR) activities most favored by investors at the 2026 IR Awards, in the Financial Large Cap category.

The voting results reflect the progress of BIDV’s IR activities during a period when the bank intensified its capital-raising efforts, expanded dialogue with the market, and enhanced the quality of information provided to shareholders.

The award was announced at the awards ceremony on September 24, 2026, based on votes cast by individual investors regarding transparency, the quality of IR activities, the effectiveness of the Executive Board, and the protection of shareholder rights. For BIDV, this recognition holds practical significance as it comes from individuals who regularly monitor, utilize information, and participate in the bank’s decisions as shareholders.

BIDV Enhances the Quality of Its Disclosure

BIDV maintains the simultaneous disclosure of information and provision of investor materials in both Vietnamese and English; it updates information on business results, governance, and development strategies through its IR portal. The bank also prioritizes the quality of disclosed content: information must be consistent, accessible, and help investors understand the context behind the figures.

Through its 2021 GRI-compliant Sustainability Report, BIDV also provides additional data on green finance and environmental and social risk management. This gives investors a more comprehensive basis for evaluating both the bank’s current business performance and its long-term development strategy.

Effectively supporting capital-raising activities and investor engagement

During the 2025–2026 period, BIDV carried out two private placements, offering nearly 388 million shares and raising over VND 15 trillion. This was also a period when investors showed significant interest in the bank’s capital-raising plans and its strategy for allocating resources. BIDV proactively shared the objectives, implementation roadmap, and significance of the offerings, helping shareholders track key steps in the strategy to strengthen the bank’s financial capacity.

In addition to capital transactions, BIDV maintains dialogue with analysts, investment funds, and domestic and international institutional investors regarding business results, growth strategies, risk management, and sustainable development. These exchanges enable the bank to address issues of market concern while also listening to investors’ perspectives on BIDV’s operations and prospects.

The Role of Senior Management in Communicating Strategy

The quality of IR activities is closely linked to the extent to which the Leadership Team participates in sharing the bank’s strategic direction and explaining its decisions. At BIDV, the leadership views sustainable development as integral to growth and risk management, rather than presenting it as a separate entity from business operations.

During a discussion at the 2026 IR Awards, BIDV Board of Directors Chairman Le Ngoc Lam emphasized that ESG information must truthfully reflect performance results, be supported by data, and help investors understand the value that sustainable development brings to the bank. This perspective reflects BIDV’s standards for the quality of information disclosed to the market, as well as the responsibility of management at all levels to implement the announced strategic directions.

Enhancing the Shareholder Experience and Ensuring Shareholder Rights

In addition to accessing information, shareholders need the opportunity to participate in decisions within their purview. BIDV places a strong emphasis on publishing General Shareholders’ Meeting materials, Q&A content, and improving voting procedures. Starting in 2024, the bank will implement electronic voting for shareholders attending the meeting remotely, making it more convenient to exercise their voting rights.

For BIDV, investor relations is not merely about disclosing information but is a journey to build trust with the market, moving from one-way communication to regular, in-depth dialogue with shareholders and investors, and shifting the focus from explaining short-term business results to consistently conveying the company’s development story and long-term value. The award at the IR Awards 2026 is recognition of the effectiveness of that process, while also providing further motivation for BIDV to continue building transparent, trustworthy relationships with the investment community.
