BIDV Partners with AgriS to Develop High-Tech Agriculture

Building on more than 57 years of sustainable development in the agricultural sector, AgriS (Thanh Thanh Cong – Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company) is gradually transforming into a high-tech agricultural enterprise, developing a diverse product ecosystem, and expanding into international markets.

In this process, financial resources play a crucial role in enabling the company to enhance its operational capabilities, invest in technology, develop value chains, and realize its long-term growth objectives. BIDV has been a key partner supporting AgriS for over a decade, providing financial solutions tailored to each stage of the company’s development. The BIDV–AgriS partnership serves as a vivid example of how BIDV consistently supports the growth of Vietnamese businesses.

From a Vietnamese Brand to a High-Tech Agricultural Enterprise

Originating from the Bien Hoa Sugar brand, established in 1969 with a mission to ensure every meal is flavorful for consumers, AgriS has continuously innovated, expanded its scale, and elevated its standing to gradually become Vietnam’s leading high-tech enterprise, pioneering the creation of an integrated agricultural ecosystem guided by modern and sustainable principles on a global scale.

AgriS is currently a multinational high-tech agricultural enterprise headquartered in Vietnam. AgriS operates in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, and Australia. Moving beyond its role as a producer, AgriS positions itself as a provider of smart agricultural solutions, integrating the three pillars of AgTech, FoodTech, and FinTech, and operating on an ESG foundation. AgriS’s mission is to build a modern, sustainable, and globally scalable agricultural ecosystem—where economic growth goes hand in hand with raising social standards and protecting the environment.

To date, AgriS holds the leading position in the domestic sugar industry with a 46% market share. The company has been building and operating a circular commercial value chain, featuring over 200 product lines spanning key commodity sectors—including sugarcane, coconut, banana, rice, and fruit crops—serving both the domestic market and exporting to nearly 80 markets. AgriS’s product portfolio includes raw materials, processed goods, and value-added products that meet international quality standards, traceability requirements, and sustainable development criteria.

AgriS is restructuring the way agriculture creates value—shifting from a production-focused model to an integrated supply chain platform model, and transitioning from resource-based advantages to data-driven and human resource management advantages.

Each step of transformation and scaling up places increasingly greater demands on financial resources. And on that journey, BIDV has been one of the banks that has been a long-term partner to the company.

The relationship between BIDV Gia Dinh and AgriS was established in 2015, just as the company was entering a phase of accelerated growth. From the very beginning, BIDV Gia Dinh identified AgriS as a key client, proactively studying its operational model, business strategy, and capital needs to develop financial solutions tailored to each stage of its development.

For more than a decade, BIDV has provided timely credit to support AgriS’s production, business operations, and investments. Not only does it meet working capital needs, BIDV Gia Dinh also offers medium- and long-term financial solutions, helping to provide the resources needed for the company to develop its raw material supply areas, invest in upgrading its factories, modernize production lines, adopt advanced technology, and gradually achieve its goals of mechanization and the development of smart agriculture.

This partnership extends beyond the enterprise to the entire ecosystem. Credit products and banking services are made available to employees, shareholders, affiliate units, suppliers, distributors, and the retail network. In particular, BIDV Gia Dinh also partners with farmers in raw material-producing regions through financial support programs, creating conditions for them to farm with peace of mind while improving crop yields and quality.

Thus, bank capital not only helps meet the financial needs of individual businesses but also flows throughout the value chain, supporting the development of all its components.

Resources for Green Transition and Sustainable Development

While capital is one of the key factors in the process of expanding production and business operations, in this new phase of development, the requirements for capital are linked to higher goals: green transition and sustainable development.

Through green credit programs and medium- to long-term financial solutions, BIDV Gia Dinh has partnered with AgriS to invest in projects aimed at achieving these goals. A notable milestone is BIDV Gia Dinh’s participation in financing green projects within the AgriS ecosystem, including the Betrimex Office Building, which has earned LEED Gold certification—an international standard for green buildings.

From capital for production and business operations to resources for long-term investment and green transition, BIDV’s partnership has helped AgriS gradually realize its development strategy.

The 2026–2030 period marks a new development cycle for AgriS, with the goal of becoming Vietnam’s leading high-tech agricultural group and promoting the application of science, technology, data, and innovation across the entire value chain.

By 2030, AgriS aims to achieve revenue of VND 60 trillion while pursuing long-term goals of promoting innovation to support national objectives. Along with this growth, there is a need to continue strengthening the foundation of governance, financial resources, technology, and the ability to connect with domestic and international partners.

Against this backdrop, in early 2025, BIDV and AgriS signed a Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement for the 2025–2030 period, marking a new phase in their relationship. Under the agreement, BIDV will continue to provide comprehensive financial solutions; prioritize green credit products for sustainable project development plans; and integrate digital platforms to optimize capital flows, enhance operational efficiency, and add value to the entire AgriS ecosystem.

Reflecting on more than 10 years of collaboration, Ms. Dang Huynh Uc My —Chairwoman of the AgriS Board of Directors—highly values the support from partners, noting that the trust placed in BIDV Gia Dinh stems from its dedication, professionalism, and ability to promptly address the financial needs of both the company and the entire ecosystem.

As it embarks on its 2030 strategy, AgriS continues to expand its high-tech agricultural ecosystem and enhance its capacity to provide comprehensive solutions for the value chain. On this journey, the partnership with financial institutions such as BIDV helps provide additional resources for the company to implement its transformation programs, strengthen its competitive edge, and expand its growth potential.

Info Box: The story of BIDV and AgriS is therefore not just the story of a bank-customer relationship that has spanned more than a decade. It is also a snapshot of BIDV’s journey in supporting the Vietnamese business community: providing financial resources, helping businesses transform and grow, so that Vietnamese brands have a stronger foundation to enhance their competitiveness and reach further in the international market.
