Groundbreaking for Lu 3 Village Road: Joining Forces to Build a Road, Fueled by Generous Donations of Land for the Community
On the morning of July 21, 2026, the Party Committee; the People’s Council; the People’s Committee; the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vo Lao Commune, Lào Cai Province, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Lủ 3 village road project, funded by contributions from the grassroots labor unions of BIDV units, including the BIDV Hanoi Branch, the BIDV Appraisal and Approval Center, and the BIDV Lào Cai Branch.
BIDV Supports New Rural Development
Attending the ceremony were Comrade Duong Duc Toan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Commune People’s Council, along with leaders from the Commune People’s Council, the Commune People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vo Lao Commune; representatives from the sponsoring units; specialized departments and divisions of the commune; the Police Force and the Commune Military Command; schools and health stations; businesses and mass organizations; as well as a large number of officials and residents in the area.
Thanks to the responsible and heartfelt contributions from union members of BIDV’s grassroots unions, the construction of the village road project—valued at over 632 million VND—was officially launched. The Lủ 3 village road project serves a practical purpose, contributing to the gradual improvement of the rural transportation system, facilitating residents’ travel and the transport of agricultural products, promoting socio-economic development, and simultaneously enhancing the quality of criteria for building a new rural area in the locality.
Vo Lao Commune, including Lu 3 Village, is a disadvantaged area with a vast territory, where socio-economic development remains limited, and rural transportation infrastructure is still inadequate and inconsistent. Among these, the road within Lu 3 hamlet is of great importance, directly serving residents’ daily travel, work, production, education, and daily activities. Once completed, the road will not only facilitate safer and more convenient travel for residents but also contribute to the improvement of the rural transportation infrastructure system, enhance the quality of life for the people, and support the locality in effectively implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ba Phong, Deputy Director of the BIDV Appraisal and Approval Center, stated: “Although this is not a large-scale project, it embodies the affection, solidarity, and sense of responsibility of BIDV’s staff and trade union members toward the community. We hope the project will be implemented on schedule, ensuring quality and safety, and will be put into use soon to deliver tangible benefits, serve the local residents for the long term, and contribute to improving the lives of people in Lu 3 Village.”

Partnering with the people of Vo Lao Commune to improve their quality of life
A key highlight of the project is the consensus and active support from the local community. To ensure the road was built according to the plan, 14 households along the route voluntarily donated land, dismantled fences, demolished outbuildings, livestock pens, and other structures on their land without requesting compensation, thereby creating a clear site for construction. The responsible and compassionate actions of these households demonstrated a spirit of solidarity, prioritizing the community’s common interests over individual gains, and played a crucial role in ensuring the project’s smooth implementation.
The people’s unity, combined with the support of Party committees, local authorities, and the partnership of sponsoring organizations, has created a collective force to realize the dream of a well-maintained, clean, and beautiful road that will serve the community’s daily lives for years to come.
Immediately following the ceremony, delegates, sponsors, and local residents jointly performed the groundbreaking ritual, poured the first batches of concrete, and began clearing the site and cleaning the road, creating a vibrant spirit of competition right from the project’s first day.
The groundbreaking for the Lủ 3 village road not only opens up a new transportation route but also serves as a vivid testament to the effectiveness of collaboration between the government, businesses, and the people. This will serve as an important foundation for Vo Lao Commune to continue mobilizing social resources, investing in the completion of infrastructure, and contributing to the development of a homeland that is increasingly prosperous, civilized, and beautiful.
