BIDV attends workshop on green and sustainable financial transformation

On October 23-24, 2025, in Beijing, ADB coordinated with the Ministry of Finance of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to organize an international workshop on sustainable financial transformation.

With the theme of the conference was “Driving Change: Lessons from Breakthroughs in Innovative and Sustainable Finance in the People's Republic of China”, the event attracted representatives from regulatory agencies, financial institutions, and experts from many Asia-Pacific countries, including the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV).

The workshop is part of the technical assistance program TA 6687-PRC: Supporting Sustainable Finance and Regional Cooperation chaired by ADB, aiming to promote experience exchange, model sharing and enhance regional cooperation in the field of innovative, green and sustainable finance. The workshop's discussion sessions focused on key topics such as: Developing green bond and carbon credit market, perfecting the green taxonomy framework and ESG standards, applying digital finance and disaster risk management, enhancing the role of the private sector in mobilizing capital for sustainable projects.

Sharing at the Workshop, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong - BIDV representative said "Recognizing the role and significance of green growth, right from the time of building the business strategy for the period 2021-2025 with the vision to 2030, BIDV has set the goal of creating sustainable value as the guiding principle throughout the bank's operations. Understanding the difficulties of businesses in accessing green finance, BIDV has pioneered in implementing many support solutions, accompanying businesses, proactively implementing preferential credit programs for renewable energy projects, energy saving and green development. At the same time, with its reputation and operational capacity, BIDV has strengthened cooperation with international organizations to finance green projects, sustainable development projects, continuing to affirm its pioneering position on the path of positioning the brand "Big - Strong - Green Bank".

Delegates attending the Workshop paid special attention to and appreciated the importance of building an innovative, transparent and sustainable financial ecosystem, and committed to continuing regional cooperation to mobilize private capital for projects responding to climate change, energy transition and green development.
